Yeah, Tim, Those are the spring plates, they moved the shock body out at least 1/4". I had a set from my Scrambler laying around.

Those are the Edelbrock IAS shocks, those should have no clearance problems at the lower mount. They fit the Jeepster by just pressing the upper crossbar.

Non-Edelbrock style shocks should work too. I'm using Superlift Cherokee shocks, pressed out the upper pin and they bolt on. Just make sure to get the correct length.

There lies the key as if one searches for a Cherokee shock, the listing will be for either stock height or for say a 3" or more lift, but probably won't say what compressed and extended lengths are which are needed to determine if they will apply to an indivdual's Jeepster that may or may not have any lift to it. Pretty sure that all the Edelbrock shocks in a particular series, ie PERFORMER IAS as indicated in above post, will all have the same body width and only vary in length. Same should hold true with other manufacturers, ie Bilstein 5125 series.
