i had a kickdown switch on my 71 commando before i changed the manifold to an offenhauser intake & did not put it back on because i forgot all about it now i am wondering if it was a mistake leaving it off. i would like to know if it will be missed before i take it out on the road for the first time. thanks for any help provided

If you want to downshift by pressing down on the gas pedal further, you will be out of luck without it.

Not sure it has much value on a Trail Rig at Low speed in Low range.
But it's sure nice merging onto the Freeway.
Of course you can still manually down shift.
