Default Another axle debate

We were looking into a scout frame and axle swap and almost started it but when I asked around on a scout site they recommended wagoneer axles.

To those who have run scout axles, have you had any problems with strength and them holding up. What about the waggie axles. Heard that the AMC 20 rear end had a weak housing and a good replacement was from an Isuzu Rodeo.

What would be reccomended to run it mostly street driven and some in the sand, and light trails, running around 300hp, maybe up to 400 if we can supercharge it later.

IMHO

Scout dana 44 axles are very good axles. But if your lifting way up the zero degree camber might cause you some trouble or more work; specially to run on the street. Lot of folks don't like their knuckles but those can be changed.
AMC 20 is also a good axle, just not a tough as a Dana 44 (better than a 35 IMHO) weld up the tubes and truss, then your set.
Waggie dana 44's would probably be the easiest to swap.
Not positive but I think the Isuzu Rodeo axle they are talking about is a Dana 44 and I've never heard anything bad about them.
I assume your out-boarding with new springs?

300 hp ..... maybe 400 your nucking futts, LOL, sounds like a lot of fun!

here is a link to the pirate site thread about axles that will help confuse you even more.

Good luck
