| | Bullnose to Jeepster Front Clip Swap
Hi guys, I am buying a 1972 Jeep Commando and would like to know if I can swap the bullnose out for the traditional Jeepster front clip? Has anyone done this? What does it entail? Thanks, Brian

You can, but it's gonna require parts, skill, time and money. Below are pics of one with a CJ front clip and one with Jeepster.

So obviously I need to find a partster for the front clip. I have the time and some money. What do you think will be the biggest challenge in the swap?

| | The challenge
My biggest challenge in mounting a Jeepster front end to the Jeep Commando frame was in measureing for and adding the spacer. I stretched the front clip and hood by about 7 inches. This meant that I had to get rid of the fan on the stock 304 and I went with a slimmer electric fan. I'll post pics as soon as I can figure it out... alright, here it is.
Next big challenge was finding a donor hood to add to the existing hood, so the latches would match up. The welding was done by a good friend, and I still have some body work (smoothing) to get it ready for paint.
I played around with some diamond plate to make removable covers for the spaced out section. Later, I will put something one that is a little less shiny. Second picture attached.
I did not want to chop the rear of the front wheel well, but when I get 35s this summer I suspect I'll have to cut a little for clearance.
Good luck. I like the swap.
