I had duals with glasspacks on my 225 when i was still running that motor and with the windows down or the top off the sound was quite loud. I would recommend an actual muffler to keep your ear drums. Also my duals were routed under the frame and i actually ripped one side off one time while wheeling so keep that in mind.

There were duals with side exhuast on my jeepster when i bought it, one of the first things I did was remove it simply because of the exaust entering the cabin during slow speeds and stops.

I'd be curious to hear how those who had/have duals converted them to address the fumes and noise issues mentioned above.
The previous owner of my Jeepster put on hedders and glasspacks and stopped the pipes under the front seats so all the exhaust just seeps up through all the holes in the floors. I've got to keep the windows down even in the winter. And it is so loud that I can't hear the radio, the person sitting next to me or my sons fighting with each other in the back seat.
I've asked the local muffler places to cut off the glasspacks and "just slap on a cheap muffler" but they turn me away or tell me it'll cost $300-400 because they have to custom bend pipes.
Any suggestions???

One Jeepster I used to have had dual pipes exiting out the back. This caused fumes to be sucked in whether the top was on or not. I rerouted the pipes out the side, no more fumes.
As to what sounds best, define "best".

Thanks for your input everyone , I am going with the Turbo mufflers routed out behind the rear wheels , Hope it works out ! As far as the guy wanting to put the cheap mufflers on I would try a different shop because all these guys custom bend almost all of there pipes , if they dont then they ain't worth a damn anyway .
