Well I got to drive it on the street a bit today and came up with the following conclusions:

1) HT383E has poop aplenty!

2) The 1800-2100 stall torque converter was a mistake and will be replacing it with a 1300-1700 stall converter.

3) After going from 1 1/8" to 1 1/4" to 1 5/16" bore master cylinders, I believe we are real close to having the brake issues resolved. The 1 5/16" bore unit is the clear winner. It crosses to a '72-'73 GM 1 ton 4WD truck. The pedal now goes almost to the floor on first pump, but comes up some on second pump, (with previous master cylinders, it went all the way to the floor on first pump, but stopped at low speeds with rears only). The fronts are the problem with the huge caliper pistons. Tomorrow, hopefully, we'll get around to adding 2 psi residual pressure valves to front lines to keep some pressure on the pistons, to see if it reduces the pedal stroke some. If it helps, but isn't quite enough, 5 psi valves should do the trick.

4) Springs are probably perfect for off-road, but too soft for moderate to high speed, (freeway), driving. Will need to talk to Charles at Alcan about adding a leaf or re-doing the main leaf. Will need to weigh it before so we can get it dialed-in better. I'm thinking it's gonna be close to 6,000 lbs. with all the steel we added.

Anyway, here's a few pics I snapped today of the Flaming River tilt column, hood prop rod, underhood LED floodlight and TJ style hood latch.

Thanks. They do indeed work, but require some mods to the fenders, (making a pocket), for the lower half of the latch to fit in properly.

2) The sun finally came out in the Pacific Northwet, so I had to take another glamour shot.

Hmm I guess when I do tube fenders down the road I could mod those in looks good.

Mine always fold in and get caught when lowering the hood.
