Default 2 moe cents

Stock rims had centers removed so I can use dog dish hub caps and put into
8'' steel wheels by Stockton wheels still has 11'' drums for now. I have had it for 15 years and my wife
wanted me to either buy the new four door version for which I would dump
$10k into or fix up the Jeepster to make it safe for our 8 year old and 5
year old. So I choose the later and get more looks per the mile. pictures coming
soon as I just got it back from 3 different shops which it was at since Nov. Seats are Beard racing seats extra 2'' wide for my rear.

Was it a bullnose with a jeepster front end?

Yes, you can see it at reader rigs #3

It was cheaper to put on the front end which cost me $600.00 and do the body work and paint job which cost me $1500.00 back 15 years ago, then to buy a regular Jeepster and add power steering, v8 , Dana 30 front ,44 rear, air conditioning and power brakes.

Ok that page #3
I had seen that one but didnt realize it was yours.

Came a long ways.
Its always good to see that we all start with something in about the same shape.

Heres mine the day I brought it home.
It was red with house paint brushed on for a camo look

[quote=Trickpatrick;1523904]All my wheeling buddies have moved away.
And my friends are all riding Cruiser bikes now which they are dusting off and getting ready for some day rides.

Having thoughts of selling the jeepster and buying a VTX1800.

Wifes say's 1 toy only

Show me your Jeepster's I need some motivation.

Hi There!
Just joined the forum and found this interesting thread. Which I must say, pictures are COOL.

Trickpatrick, I wanted to share with you one wife's perspective on "boys and their toys." I've been with my husand since we were 18 (mid 80's), and when he was ready to buy his first brand new car, he turned to Jeep. Can't tell you how many Sunday afternoons he would stand outside the dealership with his entire face pressed against the window drooling over the Sahara. But practicality took over him and he bought something else (American made). 20 years later, he had enough and traded in his commuter car for a factory direct 2005 Jeep Wrangler. Then last year he purchased a 2006 Jeep Rubicon (didn't like what the German engineers had in mind with the new models). With this purchase we had to drive from MI to Atlanta to pick it up.

Boy, is that love or what! However, here we are a year later and...I must admit, I enjoy both vehicles (BTW, I have a Jeep Liberty

I see the look in his eyes and I can't deny what was really buried within him. Either you are a Jeep fan or you're not. Jeeps are in a class all their own; unlike any vehicle ever made. And giving up this vehicle is like giving up a piece of Americana. I can't tell you how many people we have spoken with who have given up their Jeep and have deep regrets. Supression really doesn't work.

If someone would have asked me five years ago would I be this passionate about a vehicle I would have said, "Heck No!" But I've joined my DH in watching shows about Jeeps, rode the dunes of MI and see it's more than just driving through the sand. It's the family community Jeep owners has created (ie the WAVE), the artistic side of creating fantastic machines, the enveloping the whole family, kids included and the ultimate-realizing what is there to live for if you can't have a hobby and a passion? We die an early death if all we do is work and have no fun and excitement.

Sorry for the long winded story. I felt compelled to say that as a wife, I initally fought against the Jeeps. But my husband is his young self again when he drives down the road with the top off. It makes my heart sing. "It's a Jeep thing." Yea, I get it now! I also want to share with you a picture of the reaction our children had on our first evening out....and the laughter hasn't stopped.

Very nice post.

Sounds like we have some things in common.
We were married at 18 and 19 in '81
My wife has always known I was a car guy.
Not just cars though I like to work on anything with wheels.
I let her have my 70 Z28 to drive to school her last year of high school.

It was ok because I had a 67 SS big block also.

When I was in school a Camaro was about as cool as it got.
And being a Chevy guy with all my male relatives all of them Chevy mechanics.
It was a natural fit.

We have over the years had lots of Hotrods.
Including a 50,000 68 camaro racecar.

But now being in my 40's I know that cool is having something out of the ordinary.
We started with a CJ3B but it was going to be to small and cold here in Idaho.

When I found the Jeepster hiding in the back of a lot I knew that was the Jeep model for me.
I told the guy what a piece it was and how it was never going to sell.
I offered half and it went home with me...

This is our first Jeep that she will have ridden in.

Out of all our rigs the one we think back to was a 124 fiat spider convertable.
We had more fun with that than all our other toys.

We both love the outdoors.
So that and my BIL's love of jeeps has brought me to a convertable jeep.

We dont have the cash like we use to.
So a fixer upper made a perfect fit for me.

I think she will love it.

Sometimes we just get discouraged, and the pics and post's like yours can really help.

I know I am back to working on/ obsesing about ours.

I have had the feeling of the first drive with something you have built and I want it again.

Should drive it this summer but it will never be done
