Smile Dodge 360 V8 swap?!

Hello to all!

I'm new the the forums here. I've got a '70 Jeepster half cab. I've tried searching old threads but I haven't come across anyone whose done a 360 swap into their Jeepster. Anyone know what I should or will need to steer clear of? The transplant 360 V8 motor comes from a 1980 Dodge one-ton pickup.

Thanks for the help in advance! Also, is anyone from Minnesota or surrounding areas??

Welcome,,,I think you are thinking about a AMC 360 ... It will fit the 72 73s I know,,,,I believe some people run the Buick 350 in the older jeepsters.. The 70 or 71 Im looking for will have a AMC 360 with a Turbo400 & dana 20 out of a 73 in her..

unless you can get the tranny & transfer from the Dodge Truck,,

Thanks!

I've got the engine, t-case, and trans all from same truck. they were in great working condition when I took them out. I wish it was an AMC 360, but it is a dodge 360. How different are the two?

You better measure the length of that trans and transfer case and also the width.

With enough time, money and knowledge virtually any engine swap is possible. But just because you have the drive train doesn't mean it will be an easy swap. The time and effort to "make it fit" could possibly outweigh the fact you have the parts. But give it a try and let us know how it went. You may be on to something. But measure everything before you start cutting things apart. I've heard of more than one guy who got half way in then realized he'd made a big mistake.
