Swapping in an AMC 360 V*

I'm trying to put an AMC 360 V8 into my '73 Commando. I'm trying to find out some info on what transmissions and transfer cases will work. I would prefer to have an automatic transmission but at this point I'll use whatever will work. I know that I can use a TF727 with Dana 300, but apparently there needs to be 4 inches of suspension lift for the drive line to clear the transmission, so that's pretty much out of the question. Anyone have any ideas on what will definately work?

Depending on what you have now, you may be able to use it.
AFAIK, you can swap in any AMC v-8 in place of one another, or an I-6.
If you have nothing now, I would find a TH400/dana 20 from a Commando and use all of the stock parts.
