I just noticed that my stock 1967 V6 35 amp alternator doesn't indicate which terminal is the 'Field' terminal. Just three terminals in a row on a red backing plate. Is the left terminal or the right one the field??
is it left field----center field---or right field? Paul come get this delco alt and getter going LOL. I'm still sick with this c$%# cold but I'm sure you can pick the alt up without being infected. Besides, sharing is always good!
That's all good, except for the cold part and you bet I'll take you up on the alternator offer but I'm still curious is it left field or right field?? You'd think with 80 views someone would have the answer. Or am I the only one here who gets off on the electrical stuff??
I have the 67 running (sort of) but now it won't pump its own fuel so its off to the parts store for a fuel pump. Thot about going electric there too but decided I'd humor the GM designers and stick with the mechanical pump. The guy who buys this one from me can do all the upgrades.
Yes for sale soon a 67 with none of the upgrades and no rust.
Or am I the only one here who gets off on the electrical stuff??
It's either that or everyone gave up on the externally regulated one and threw in a GM internally regulated one that fits with no mods, is more readily available, better charging rating, and more reliable.

I hear ya Chris altho there are some who praise the superior nature of the externally regulated alternator. My personal preference is the one wire cuz its simple like me. Its just that this machine is so stock that since most Jeepsters are sitting on 44's with a 6 inch lift and a 350 something in it that I would like to keep it as stock as possible at least until the next guy drives it home.
