Default Jeepster Event of the Summer! (read and respond)

I got a call from Jim Serr (AJC Pres) last night. he has been in contact with the JCCA higher ups, and it seems there is a truce on the near horizon between the two clubs.

That being said, many of you on this board and the other have known me for years, and probably have noticed that I have not been as involved as I used to be. This is for two reasons:

1. I have a 5 year old and a 1 year old now.
2. I got really sick of all the tit-for-tat political BS between the two clubs and how the AJC is/was run.

WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER>

NOW FOR THE REAL REASON FOR THE POST!!

I spoke with Jim, and I am thinking of throwing a Jeepster Event. This will be a joint JCCA / AJC event, open to ALL Jeepter and Commando owners.

This will held in Western Washington, located near and in a very nice ORV Park. I will secure a campground / RV park location, complete with all amenities, as well as provide all of the necessary hotel phone numbers, addresses etc for those who wish to go that route.

Depending on the weekend we may be driving in a parade. We will have several trail rides, with options for dirt roads all the way to full-on rock crawling, depending on your rig / style. We will have a raffle. Prizes like ARB certificates, New Parts, Gears, and possibly a winch and much more.

I will have Primedia there with either JP magazine or 4wheel and OffRoad magto do a feature.

This is a big deal, as Wayne and I will be handling all of the logistics and planning.

HERE'S THE DEAL:

I can only make this happen with the support of BOTH the AJC and the JCCA. I can and will throw a kick-butt event, but I need your feedback. Please respond with any questions, concerns or even just a yes or no if you think you can come, and I wil weigh the results and get my backside planning!

I WANT TO DO THIS!! Let me know what you think.

I'm in! Sounds like a great time. Can you do me/us a favor? Post the possible dates as soon as you can. I don't know about everyone else, but my summer is filling up fast.

I was up in Sultan a couple of weekends ago. Was thinking of trying to find you, Chris, but I didn't know a # or anything.

My 2 cents:

If someone is willing to go to the time and effort to put on an event for jeepsters then I'm all for it. I don't see the harm in having both the AJC and JCCA initials on an event, if thats what it takes to get an event planned, especially for a part of the country that doesn't really have any other events close by.

I understand there are some, probably on both sides of the fence, who want nothing to do with one club or the other for whatever reason, but to not have an event in an underserved area because of whose initials are on it would not be in the best interest of either club. IMHO.

I say thanks Chris for stepping up and offering to put on an event. Check out the JCCA calendar of events already planned for this year, and please pick a date that would not interfer with events already planned which may be attended by people from the northwest ie.. Rubicon, Pismo, Moab, etc..

Thanks,

Curt

Tom,
I understand your sentiment. You as well as anyone know where my allegience lies, after Ron, Wyane and I made the 10 hour trip for your picninc a few years back!!

I am doing this based on a conversation that jim and I had last night about getting everyone together for the love of the vehicle...not for politics, just like the old days. I would love to have you come up, and would consider it a personal favor to me if I could return the hospitaility you always show us!

Chris

I like the positive response and be assured that there are many others who feel the same way.

I'm not sure I fully understand the bad blood between the two clubs. It should just be if you have a jeepster or commando you should try to come out and have fun. I may be wrong but I doubt the events are done much different. Run trails, camp, run more trails, camp and have a good time. I hope the dates don't conflict with something else I'd like to go as well.

Heh, well that makes it hard to say no to.
I'm capable of stuffing my ill-will down where it wont be troublesome...
So count me as a maybe... I'll need to see the dates and run such by the Mrs.
