Chris, We met at the Dunes run down at Winchester Bay Oregon. I don't understand the politics and life is too short to get too worked up over the small stuff. I would be excited to attend an event. Let me know if you need some help with organizing or setting up. I hope to have my Jeepster road ready by summer. (remember the tan Willys? That was our family).

Dennis

Amen! There are only so many JC's and Commandos, and the membership of the two clubs is nearly identical, so let's put the political to rest.

It's really interesting how when a new club forms how it develops.
Here in the high desert many of us were/are members of DST, a club centered in the low desert near Palm Springs. It took us high desert folks an hour or two to attend meetings.

Some of us started meeting in the high desert as well - we called ourselves HiDesert 4x4. A very loosely knit structure, no dues, no pres, no rules except safety rules. The intention is to have runs, lots of them, the goal is at least one run every weekend. Some easy, some hard.

The fighting, the insults, I couldn't believe it!
But now that things are calmed down many of both clubs are dual members! Membership count is about equal now.

Now DST plans runs, so does HiDesert 4x4. There's always something going on! Each club welcomes members from the other club to come along. The fighting has stopped and we are all having MUCH more fun.

Last weekend we did one of the Hammer trails (Hidesert4x4), this weekend it's the Dale Mining District (HiDesert4x4,) next weekend it's Calico (DST) - an on and on and on.

The whole idea is to get folks together with similar interests and have a good time.

I'm glad to hear it. I also have stayed out of it and probably have become less involved in the whole Jeepster scene as a result.

That said, I wish I could make it to the get together. I keep hoping to make it to a Jam, but something always comes up.

Have fun!

Holy crap! Drayson...RQ..it has been a while!

I am corrently in the research and planning stages of this event. Within 2 weeks, I will have full detasils with times, places etc, at which time it will be posted and made sticky (that means you Jim!)

I am trying to work it out that neither club has a sanctioned event on this weekend, so we can get the whole gang together.

It's going to be a blast...keep checking back for the details!!
