Yea, well i just dont have the time and I went with the people with the best reputation. I figured I would be paying for it, but I dont want to keep fixing the same parts all the time, like my freinds without jobs have to do.

That is a little high.
Too bad you didn't ask first. There is a guy very close to you with all the parts. It would be pretty much bolt on and go.

by the way i bought a 1970 Jeepster about a year ago.
The manual steering is great.
It does not wander at all.
Very smooth even on the highway at 65 mph

I will be doing this conversion very soon on both of mine as well (both are '71s)
One already has factory Saginaw manual steering and the other still has a D27 axle and Ross steering. I am trying to figure out why its different.
Will the saginaw box from a bullnose bolt onto the front of the C101?
I Have an interesting need for this. its swap in power steering or swap in an automatic transmision.
I am fairly tall (6'2") and handicaped in my left leg, and to put my foot on the clutch means that my leg must pass between the door and the steering wheel, and it cant.
so I need a smaller steering wheel, or eliminate the clutch with an automatic trans.
Does anyone have any ideas?
something else, would a Jeep TJ steering box work on the Jeepster Frame? I already have two of those I could use.

The previous owner of my 1970 Jeepster Commando changed it from a 3 spd to an Auto. It has a TH350 instead of the usual TH400. It works well.
I still have the clutch pedal hanging in there. I guess it could easily be removed if needed.
I am 5'10" and have a hard enough time fitting in and I have the seat all the way back.....
This other web site has lots of posts on trans and steering swaps http://www.jeepstercommandoclub.com/forum/index.php |

I have a 70 Jeepster with manual Saginaw steering and 31 inch tires. My steering is a little sloppy (due to wear I guess), but I do not find it hard to turn the wheel at any speed.
