Default Stripped Fuel Pump Hole

Jeepster Dudes,

I replaced the fuel pump this weekend. Unfortunately, the guy that worked on it before me had stripped out one of the two holes used to bolt on the pump. Does any one have any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Thanks,
Gary

Heli-Coils should work... use HEAVY grease on the bit & tap to keep the chips in check (no sure if the holes are "blind" or go into the block).

Same thing happened to me. I just drilled out the hole in the timing cover a little bigger and tapped it for a larger bolt. Later I replaced it with an electric pump.
