Default Disc brake conversion problems

I have a 73 with the front dana 30. I got a pair of 6 bolt caliper brackets from a 77 Chevy 1/2 ton. I got a reman set of calipers from the same year. I used the 1 1/8" rotor/hub combo from a 77 cj. Everything was mounting up nicely until I went to put on the new pads. There is not enough room between the caliper bracket and the inside of the rotor for the inside brake pad. Did I do something wrong or do I just need cheaper/thinner pads?? When I put the caliper on, it is so tight the rotor can't move. Any ideas??

This isn't a big deal. Others have had this problem too (including me).
How close it?
Some guys have just removed enough material off the inboard pad to get it to fit. Probably not good if you need to remove a lot of material on a daily driver.
I used my orginal drum spindle/hubs, did you? I had to go back to the lathe and remove some more material from the hub. I can get you my final measurments if you need them.
Using Disc spindle & hub? Did you get the bearing race that allows for a little more clearence? I'll look for the part # in my notes if you need it.

Don't dispair it's an easy fix and a great upgrade.

Rockin On

I used the drum spindle and a new disc hub. I only had to remove a little bit of material from the inner pad and it fits. Thanks for the help, that was an easy fix.
