Default Pilot Halogen Headlites

Has anyone tried these or have an opinion? I'm just looking for a brighter solution and these have better reflectors but I think they are plastic. Not sure if I like that. Any other solutions that don't require a rewire of my Centech kit?

Thanks

Here's what I used on both Punkin and Ol' Red Beater. IPF 920H headlamps.

I used relays and high output bulbs for the Beater, but for Punkin we didn't want the added expense of adding more wiring and relays, so we used the IPF XX or also called Fatboy bulbs that can be used with existing wiring. Not quite as bright as the Beater's, but far and above better than stock setup. This setup isn't cheap, but you really get what you pay for with lighting.

Super Low Beam XX

Specifications: H4 12V 60/80W
3090K

Features: IPF's Most Powerful Upgrade Utilizing a Standard Wiring Harness
Uses an Exotic High Pressure Gas Mix Contained in a Huge Clear Bulb Envelope for Unrivalled Performance

Stabilizer Rod to Extend Life in Harsh Conditions
Easy Installation -Compatible with Most Modern Factory Wiring Looms and Resin Headlights
Available in Twin Pack

Hella also make a good replacement headlamp that I believe comes with a bulb. Not sure if they require a relay setup or not. The IPF's seem to be a step above the Hella's from what I've read. I'm very pleased with them.

Tim,

Will the IPF Fat Boy plug into the stock Jeepster headlamps or do I need the new ones that you listed? I have always thought that a 3 prong bulb was the same as an H4 so it seems that these would simply plug in. I'm guessing that the new headlamps would add more reflective quallity.

I like what I have read on these. Thanks for the tip!

Chris

If memory serves me, the stock plugs were retained, but not positive.

Tim,

I installed the Super Low Beam XX and they are great. The difference from the old ones is night and day (sorry). Should have done it sooner.

Thanks

What should I have to pay for 2 qts. of halogen fluid for my headlites? Dealer wants $45 a qt. & says I'm almost 2 qts. low.

I know you probably made an error in typing this but just incase ,here goes.

Halogen is a gas not a fluid and is incapsulated in the glass of the bulbs.
It is not servicable in any car.

Please let me know what i am misunderstanding.

I just looked at my post & boy was I way off. It was $4 to $5 for a qt. of tranny fluid.
One of the headlights was cracked but still working & they wanted to replace that for $45. I will ask them to clearify that too.

Uh, Yeah, Sure, try and save face after that first post....

Sylvania Silverstar lights are awesome...I installed them in my daughters XJ- what a difference over plain halogen.

I run a set of H-4 conversions on my Commando.
They are much brighter than the stock ones.
Use relays to wire them up and you can keep the same switch.
Mine were around $40 for the set and came with bulbs. (Ebay)
You can see them in this pic...
