Default Oregon Sand Dunes

We are leaving Tuesday morning and taking our sweet time up the coast to Coos Bay Oregon. Can't wait to see friends and go wheeling on the dunes. The Sand Rail Festivail will be fun too. Drive safe and see you there!

I won't be meeting up at the Campground with the rest of you.

Instead, due to this being the busiest weekend of the year, I will show up very early Friday am at Horsefall staging area, and try to get a parking spot. I'll be towing my Jeep, so I'll leave the tow rig there.

This way, we can all utilize this parking spot all day ( park behind my truck, and can park two-wide for a short period of time). So if you need to air down, use the restroom during the day, etc., you will at least have a way to do that.

I will put a big "Jeepsters" sign in the back window of the canopy. Gray Ford F-250, white canopy.

Horsefall is on the south end of the "Coos Bay" dunes.

See you there,

Warren 541-914-6963

Just got back and have to say that I had an absolute blast. Probably been since the 80's since I've played in the sand and boy what a hoot! Thanks to all that helped put this together and all that showed up. For those that didn't make it, here's a small glimpse:

We just got back too. What a great weekend!! It was nice to see familiar faces from the 2001 event in Roseburg. We also made some new friends and found out we had fellow Jeepsters close to our area. I can't think of a single complaint about the whole weekend.

Thank you Jim for planning the event and keeping the ball rolling.
Thank you Bob for leading Saturdays run in the dunes.
Thank you Robert for the awesome smoked Prime rib.

Thanks for posting those pics, Tim. Any others? I'm so bummed I couldn't make it. We are having a good time on our family vacation in Utah, though!

Next year...I promise!

It was a great weekend. Even though I now need to re-build my engine after lugging it through the sand for two days. My wife, Michele realy got a kick out of driving around in the dunes and my kids though it was a blast watching their mother pilot the Jeep down the trail. Now I need to figure out how to get two jeeps out to the dunes..

Thanks to Jim for coordinating this event, Robert the chief for cooking the Prime Rib dinner (I am sure Jonna and Steve helped too). There are some real great guys out there and I had the opportunity to spend a great weekend with them. It was nice how family oriented these guys are, Chis J, Darren, Ted, Mike, Ron, Bob, and myself all had family out with them. Great guys all of them.

Hope to make it to Reno.
