When looking at the different “readers rigs” some of the 67 Jeepster have different hoods from others; Like Aaron McBride’s 67 Jeepster compared to Joseph Horvath’s 67 Jeepster on page 9 of readers rigs.
When dropping in a Chevy 350, is the best approach to use a CJ5 front grill (with the CJ5 radiator) and add the Jeepster ears and stay with the Jeepster hood?
I read this is what Jim is using for his approach to the install, Jim is that true?
Also, does anyone cut the firewall and add a box to accommodate the distributor or is there a different approach to the issue?
yes it is, use a '73 or up, CJ-5 grille. I just finished it up and and am about to paint it. I have pics and will try and post them somewhere so friends check it all out. I will have my new crossmember posted there too.
I'm using an 82 CJ grille with ears welded on. I still need to decide what to do with the CJ turn signal holes...I may relocate the Jeepster turn signals there and use the holes on the ears for projector driving lights that come on in conjunction with my high beams.

I chose to use the Jeepster grill and cut out the air tunnel entirely. This setup allows room for a fixed, non-clutch, solid engine driven fan along with a Zirgo 3500 cfm aux electric pusher fan in front of the radiator. The firewall can be left as is if you are willing to use a small MSD or Mallory electronic distributor with external coil in lieu of the large HEI distributor with internal coil.
