Default replacement emblems?

Isn't it odd that when a jeepster has 30+ year old paint with associated rust spots and other blemishes, the old pitted emblems seem fine. Take it apart, repair those problem areas, paint it up, and then reassemble and those same pitted emblems look terrible - even after buffing and hand painting them. I recall there being talk of someone casting some replacements out of aluminum - did anything ever come of that? Seems like someone else was thinking about milling them? I can probably live with the V-6 ones on the door, but the hood emblems need help bad. Anybody got some very slightly pitted hood emblems they would part with?

Default Re: replacement emblems?

I was the one talking about casting them, but since I planned it, I've never had the time to do a proper job of it. Between work and other projects and businesses, plus the cold UP winter (can't cast in the house until I finish my electric furnace), I have as many excuses as I do ideas. I am still planning to do it, but I'm still working on the new casting furnace.

Bulltear was the one who was talking about milling them, which, if he has time, that'd probably be a better way to go at this point.

Otherwise, the Jeepster parts sources usually have some laying around.
