1 ton frame and I would think a full size pickup frame would work, but I'd have to measure the wheel base to be sure.

I used to think about this extension deal a lot, so much that I know how to do it in my mind. Body work is not that big of a deal. I added 2" to my cowl to raise the windshield and you cannot tell until you try to bolt on a hard top.
Get a partster or even a CJ donor and cut a 3" band from the cowl where the hood bolts up. Using some 3/4 angle, make a lip to attach it to the stock Jeepster cowl, do some creative body work and you have it. Make it so that it sticks out like a ledge beyond the existing cowl and you have another 3" of room to work with under the hood. Fenders can be worked out easily by applying some of the same logic.
