| | master cylinder switch recall?
With the present campaign to recall so many Ford trucks, shouldn't Jeep have one also for the same design on our Jeepsters?
Has anyone converted to a pedal activated switch?
My master cyl. switch has just gone out again after leaking through the switch contacts.

I converted my Bullnose to a pedal activated years ago. Made a bracket to hold a Chevy style and used a rad hose clamp to attach it to the steering column. Never had a problem with it since. Got the switch and connector at the scrap yard, old Chevette I believe so that kind of tells you how long ago that was.
You ever meet up with a guy by the name of Lee Pettijohn over at Silver Lake? Probably be driving an old FC150 or a 170.

Haven't seen any FC's out there. Have seen a couple other Commando's though. Plenty of CJ's too. I think I'll try to set up a pedal mounted switch also.

Got a pic of that? I'd be interested to see that, since I still haven't been able to set anything up on mine yet...
thanks,

Figured I'd better get out there and do it before I got carried away doing something else. I've been known to do that .

Awesome, and thanks. Do you know what all makes & models that came on? I'll probably have to buy the switch at the auto parts place, and then fabricate the bracket, since there aren't a lot of junkyards around here, and they all seem to crush anything over 10 years old.
Thanks, that looks like it will work perfectly - lots easier than any of the other "fixes" I've been looking at.
Thanks,

I believe it came off a mid 80's Chevette but any of the GM's those years should be the same. I think they may have been using the same design up into the 90's if I remember correctly.

Gracias! My OEM style switch has puked fluid for 3 years... and recently started "sticking"... brand new battery dead as hammer after 1 day (wife says "I noticed the taillights on last week, but didn't say anything" )
As Spatula stated, this looks to be MUCH simpler than other methods! Who wants to assist me?

Almost all later model cars and trucks use that type switch..Should be able to find them on the electrical parts isle in any parts store.

there's the link from the Advance Auto site - $5.00 and in stock nearby! That looks like the same one, I guess...hopefully that bracket won't be too hard to fab up. I guess it has to be pretty strong to work right...
