...hopefully that bracket won't be too hard to fab up. I guess it has to be pretty strong to work right...

[/ QUOTE ]

Shouldn't need to be that stout, just has to hold the switch steady so the pedal/arm can contact the plunger (& turn off the brake lights)...

The number for the Napa one is a SL169. Make sure you get that number because there is one that is normally open and that one wont work in that setup. The brace does not have to be that heavy duty if you put it in the right spot. The pedal just makes contact with the switch when in the rest position.

So is the SLS62 the opposite, or will it work also? That looks the most like the one in the picture. Good thing I didn't go to the store last night...

The sls62 is the right one if you are going to set it up just like the picture that original70 posted.

OK, got the switch last night, trying to make the bracket today. Now for the million dollar question - How big should the bracket be? Looks like maybe an inch or two. I'm looking for the distance between the steering column and the switch...forgot to measure last night, and I'm at work now.
Thanks.

Ok, thanks for the postings guys. I made this bracket, and got a widely used GM style stoplight switch. total cost of about 5$. Works great.
Thanks

I unwrapped the wire loom to get the wires back inside the vehicle, and they were long enough to get to the switch. This picture shows the switch in the activated (lights on) position.

Need the confusion cleared up a bit....first it was said the SL169 is the right one - then the SLS62 is the right one if set up in that picture. anyone know for sure which it is??? I am getting close to crunch time and need brake lights as the Ford E350 m/c has no provision for a switch. Thanks in advance.
