Default rear fender cut-out

I'm looking at buying a jeepster that has the rear fenders cut out huge. It has those aftermarket fiberglass fender flares poorly installed and I don't like it at all. This is the only thing preventing me from buying it right now. Has any one replaced the original fenders with a repair panel? Or are these flares still available, and maybe with a better installation it would look good. If any one has any advise I would appreciate it. Thanks

We just put a set on a commando. A little extreme on the width, but they do make other ones that will fit. Mostly scrambler rears. Altough Jeepster jims seem to work real well. Check out the attachment. How bad are the sides cut allready?

Jeepster Jim's stuff looks natural while adding clearance. Stock TJ flares can look good, if yours hasn't been cut more than they can cover.

Yes I did get rid of my hardtop. I believe that you forgot the rear gate hinges and support arms. Send me a PM and we can work out getting them to you.

I think these are Jim's "fender extensions" they have the original profile, but they are cut way up on the tub. I think they are cut to the top of the fender well. This would be my wife's jeep and she doesn't like the way it looks right now, so I would need to make it look better some how. Does any one have pictures of Jim's fender flares that I can see?

Here is a pic of my rig with a set of the Warn TJ trail flares (that are 7 inches wide) installed. I think they turned out nice. You do have to have a wide set of axles under your ride. Mine are 65 inches wide!

Here is a look at my rear cut out. I had to remove alot of sheet metal. The TJ flares will cover a very large cut-out:
