If you don't need it right away, I will be selling both a stock intake and an Offenhauser 4 bbl intake in a few weeks after I get them blasted and painted. I might even have them done by the time I have to drive up to Lacey on Oct. 8th.

There is the option of Ebay using "Buick 231" as the search.

Brian:
I will list the manifolds on the classified site when they are cleaned up. I would hesitate putting an even-fire 231 intake like the one listed on ebay on your odd-fire 225. I'll send you an email with more details on mine.

PooBah,
Why would you hesitate putting an even fire manifold on an odd fire block??

Here is what I've collected for information on various manifolds:
Offenhauser 6035 Dual port - for 64 to 71 225. It fits both 225 and 231 odd-fire Buick V-6's.
Offenhauser 6167DP: Dual plane manifold for the 76 to 78 Buick 231.
Offenhauser 6171 Single plane 76-78 Buick 231.
Offenhauser 6228C Single plane will not work with HEI, 79 and up.
Edelbrock Performer Intake Manifold #5486 - 79 & up.
Holley 300-22 - 75 to 79 Buick 231 (so probably 225 also)
Weiand 7541 - 75-87 231 Buicks
Kenne-Bell 1 - 75-87 231 Buicks
Buick 25512236 79 and up tall port 231
Holley - Weiand Stealth Intake Manifold Part #: 7541 and the Kenne Bell are "middle" designs which will work with all 90 degree Buick V6s (odd fires/short port/tall port.) They are not optimized to one or the other. All the above are 4v manifolds, Edelbrock SP2P is the only 2v other than stock I know of.
Most of the manifolds are not available new anymore, best bet is to watch E-Bay

Why would you hesitate putting an even fire manifold on an odd fire block??
| Because GM designed the manifolds for the different types of engines. My guess would be the different types of pulses between odd and even firing motors.
I might be inclined to try an odd-fire 231 intake, ('75, '76 or early '77), on a 225 if I couldn't find one from a 225, but GM did have one part # for the 225 intake, another for the '75 & '76 231 intake and yet another early '77 231 intake, all odd-fire's. The late '77 and all '78, (even-fire), 231 intakes were yet another part #. '79 also had a different # from previous due to the tall-port heads for that year.
Aftermarket manifolds also differentiate between odd-fire and even-fire motors with different models.
You might get an even-fire intake to fit on an odd-fire motor, but I would think that performance would be degraded from the original.

The mechanical differences are obvious but I'm surprised that the pulses of fuel would make a difference but I've been surprised before.

Brian, (3733):
I sent you an email to the address you have listed in your profile on 9/17, but have not received a reply from you. Are you still interested in a manifold?
