I was botling in a MC today and noticed a 2-prong electric switch if some sort on the gas pedal in my commando. It is currently unplugged. What is it for? And what color wires hook onto it? I have a bunch of disconnected plugs hanging from the dash, when the previous owner went crazy and pulled everything and sold them.
Re: What is the 2-pring switch on the gas pedal???
Dan, The wires to the kickdown should both be yellow (according to my wiring diagram). If you don't already have a copy of it, you should download it from Walters website . It has all the colors listed for each wire and will make the task getting the electrical stuff functioning MUCH easier.
Re: What is the 2-pring switch on the gas pedal???
Thanks guy!!!
I did download the schematics and it helps, also downloaded the whol manual the Gaelic was awesome enough to scan. But man is that a killer download. Good thing I have DSL
I did see two yellow wires hanging down, so i will plug them back in. Luckily for me the previous owner didnt hack into the wiring much.
Re: What is the 2-pring switch on the gas pedal???
Hey guys,
I plugged in the two yellow wries onto the switch. But I dont know if they are sidwe specific. Are they? The wires still held a bend in them like they were just piulled off, so I installed hem they way they seemed to go. I dont want to burn out this switch incase it is one of those Harder-than-hell-to-find-switches that are only specific to commandos.
Re: What is the 2-pring switch on the gas pedal???
If the switch isn't adusted right you may have some really weird shifting points. Mine was turned all of the way out (toward the pedal) Would no shift regularly. Turned it in and bent the bracket down till it engaged only when I mashed the pedal to the floor. Much better!!
Sounds like you are working really hard on that thing. We want more photo's.
