Default dana 18 in a 20??

I know it's possible to put the Dana 18 parts into a Dana 20 case, but I've also read that you can do the Tera-Low Dana 18 gearing, and put the 18 with low gears into a Dana 20. Anybody have any experience there??

My ideal setup would be a Tera-Low Dana 18 set of parts into a Dana 20 case, with the Warn overdrive on it as well. Just wondering how feasible this might be. Any ideas??

I run the D 18 with a OD and want to put lower gears in BUT Tera has not made the gears up to work with the OD unit. I checked with them about 5 months ago and they said they are working on it. Sure hope they come up with a gear set.

I dont think the OD will work with the dana 20. There isnt a port for it as i remember. Since the dana 18 was offset the left side of it was open for a pto or OD

The old Warn style D 18 OD unit will not bolt up to a 20. but you can use a D 20 case to create a D 18. That is what I did.

Jim
I have a question for you. Did you use the complete 20 case and 18 innards, or did you use only part of the 20 case and part of the 18 case. Please tell me more about it, as I would like to know more. Also I seem to remember that someone makes a gear to use both the OD unit and the low gearset. I will try to find it if possible.
Thanks
