So I get home from work Monday and I'm kind of feeling beat down by the standard Monday BS. I hadn't even sat down and my wife says "lets go test drive new Jeeps". After picking up my jaw I sprinted out to the truck. We get to the dealer and check out a few TJ's then out comes the salesman. I tell him we're just kicking the tires when my wife speaks up and asks about the availability of the Rubicon. Again I'm picking up my jaw, I didn't even know she was aware of the Rubicon trail let alone the Jeep. The sales dude said there was no real chance of getting a Rubicon so my wife says "well, let me take this one for a ride and see what I think". At this point I'm starting to wonder when she was abducted by aliens. So we go for a spin, return the Jeep and give the sales guy the bruss off. I'm thinking cool but we'll never get one. I come home on Tuesday she's got the brochure memorized and has been talking about getting one as soon as the lease is up on her Silverado. Has she come to the dark side? Can I burn the Chevy to get out of the lease early?
Here's what my Brother used to do with his leased Chevy's.
He would keep them up to about the last 6 mounths of the lease, then he would blue book the truck, advertise it and sell it before the lease was up. He would always get more for it by selling it out right, than the value of the truck that was listed at the end of lease (the residual value at the end of the lease). This would give him the bucks he needed for the next one. In your case, more for the down payment on the "NEW JEEP", and into the Jeep "SHE" is wanting! Check it out with the lease company, and see if you can do this. The worst they could say is no.
