jeepster gas tank conversion

i know what some of you are thinking. hay moneys money. i'm a :censored::censored::censored::censored::censored:. i'll work on anything, well except a chevy.
to all you jeepster geeks that have bad/rusted gas tanks. here is an option. scavage the hangers and fill tube off a commando, and buy an early model (72) cj tank. on this particular project i had to cut the front corners off at an an angle and re-drill one hole. for you commando guys, the tanks a direct replacement.

I found a gas tank from a 75? cj5 that was exactly the same as my 72 commando tank. Bought it at a swap meet for $20. New! The kid bought it for his cj-7 and it didn't fit. [img]images/icons/smile.gif[/img]

Bigcheese, I have noticed the same thing.I thought I heard someone say something about converting the AMC 401 to an odd-fire ignition.Next thing you'll know is the Longbeach will be wearing pink panties.
