Default OT about a J200 and parts $ on a Bullnose

I found a J200 VIN# 2406F 14530 that had a straight 6 with a hydro-matic hooked up to it. My question is will this transmission bolt up to my 225 V6? The J200 unit has a spacer plate bolted up between the trans and the straight 6 currently.

Ok now my questions on parts on a Bullnose: I found a Bullnose that has numerous parts I could use on my H/C but I'd like to figure out some $$ for these parts so I can decided on either buying the whole vehicle or just buying the parts>
Here's the list:
Tail lights: good condition
Dash pad: good condition
Doors: Good other than bubble rust along bottom edge
Back seat: good condition
Radio: Good condition
Whole Dash: Good condition ( no holes cut in it)
4 hub caps: good condition
Ok, that's the list of items.....can anyone give me a ball park figure on how much an average cost would be for those items? The guy is asking $600.00 for the hole vehicle, I might be able to get him down to $500.00. I'm thinking that he'd rack the $$'s up on the parts.....so it might be best to purchase the whole thing vs just the parts I need.
What do you'll think?

you easily have $500.00 just in the parts you want from the rig. Buy the whole thing and sell the rest to re-coop your money.

If you have a place to keep the whole thing, get it! I would pay $3-500 bills for Jeepster/Commando. It never hurts to have extra parts such as the axles, brake parts and other little misc. parts that can be hard to find for our Jeepsters. I don't know on the truck tranny, what does the Commando have in it. In my opinion I would leave the H/C as is and wait to get a Jeepster or Commando with a T-400 in it. How is it coming with the Jeepster!

Jerry,

I've been out of commission the last 9 days with back problems so I haven't done anything to the h/c. It's got a 3 speed in it currently but I really hate to shift . I know I should keep it stock.....guess I could find another Jeepster to use as a daily driver. I haven't had an automatic since 82....I'm over due for a break from shifting. The guy with the auto trans wants 200.00 for the T400 and the transfer case. Which I didn't think was too bad a price.

Keep checking the website where you found the h/c, there are a couple of Commandos there now! I have a 72 with a 258/t-400 that I will eventually fix up for when the Jeepster is down! I wondered what tranny the parts Commando has in it, if it had an auto the swap would be easier. Sorry to hear about your back.

All of the Jeep TH-400's used from '65 thru '73 were the same BOC, "round top" cased units, with a unique adapter for the particular engine that Jeep used. '74-'79's used an AMC cased TH-400 that used no adapter. '63-'64's used the Borg-Warner AS-8F, so make sure what you're looking at if you want the tranny and realize you will also need to locate the newer BOP engine to BOC tranny adapter that won't be behind the I-6 on the truck.
