Thought I might share what I've found on tall tires that should clear the fenders without trimming, stock width axles and appx. 3" lift. I'm probably gonna settle on 33x9.50R15's, but decided to include a few others as well. If anyone knows of any others in these sizes, please post.

33x9.50R15

The first four listings are all made by Kelly with diameter of 32.76", section width of 9.46" and footprint width, (tread), of 8.3"

Kelly MSR http://www.kelly-springfield.com/product/light/smsrb.html Click the tire for a larger pic.

Wild Country RVT http://members.xoom.com/_XMCM/Triwest/lt/33x950r15c.htm This shows both the RVT and TXR size 33x12.50, but they also come in 33x9.50 too. The RVT is more of an all season tire rather than all terrain.

Big O Big Foot XT also called Super Sport DT, Hoosier DT and Summit GT Trail Climber http://www2.bigo.com/bigo/A/A1/A1A/A1A13.html

BFG AT http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/catalog/all_terrain_ta_ko.html You can click and download a pdf file to get all the specs. Be advised that tread on this tire is 6.9" vs 7.7" of their 30x9.50.

BFG MT http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/catalog/radial_mud_terrain_ta.html Again, the pdf can be clicked for more info. Be advised that tread on this tire is 6.8" vs 7.4" of their 30x9.50.

33x10.50R15

BFG AT See above for link. This tire sells for less than the 33x9.50.

BFG Baja http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/catalog/baja_ta.html Again with the pdf for the specs. This tire sells for $300/tire, (must have diamonds in the tread, I guess).

Super Swamper http://www.intercotire.com/ssradial.htm

275-85R-15 This is similiar to the 33x10.50's.

Buckshot Mudder http://www.natltire.com/pages/mudders.html Scroll down past the Gumbo Mudders and Ground Hawgs to find the Buckshot Mudders. You can then click SPECS.

I happened across this thread and thought that I may have been confused with this last post, so I ought to try to set the record straight. I stated that 4.25" offset wouldn't clear disk brakes. I've been recently been questioned on this and to the best of what I think is right, it probably was those pesky rear disk brakes that caused the problem and not the fronts. I just remember that my first choice for wheels wouldn't work and had to switch to the 3.625" offset. To those new people that missed this thread, here it is again.

Beats me John. All I remember is that the first set of wheels wouldn't clear. The second would. The rear calipers are for an El Dorado, not sure what the fronts are for. Could it be the e-brakes on the rears cause clearance problems? Does yours have e-brakes?

You might want to look at the BIG O XT's. They have the best warranty in the business ie: Lifetime down to 2/32 tread debth. and road hazzard (ie sharp rock through the side) and they are pretty quiet on the road. The other thing is any BIG O in the country will warranty them.

Tim, I bet the calipers are bigger for the caddy, mine are stock GM calipers, no e-brake.

Big O tires= big pop. They are the only tire that I have had a flat in my driveway with...... BFG's are awsome, I still have not popped my ko's, and they frequently get curbed, bashed, bruised, and beaten. I am only getting 30K out of them on the rear tires though. The Goodyear MTR's rock!! I have them on the Jeepster now, they are super tough and quiet as the KO's on the road.

When I was living down in San Diego, I noticed that almost everyone out in the desert races were running BFGs, and it seemed the same for all of the prerunners and everyday drivers. What I heard is also that they
dont last long at all. The only way they were getting any life on the street was constant rotating, and
pumping the air pressure WAY UP.....but then they rode like poo... I personally am running Bridgestones
for about a year now with prolly 6,000 miles on them and they look like new. I do light off-roading though,
and I think that it would be nice to have a little stiffer sidewall.

right now im running cooper discovery St's. ive put probley 6,000 on them and they seem like they are still pretty new. i like them, they do alright in the mud. to me they seem better than the bfg ko's but that just me

I'm a big fan of the BFG's. I have a set of 31" KO's with 40k miles and they have over 7/32 tread left. The KO's have great tread life. The MT's, however, wear like any other mud tire, rotate every 6k and you'll get 30-40k max out of them.
