Default 80 CJ7 wheel alignment question

The machine the guy in town has doesn't go back to 80 but we can put in manual settings. I have a 77 TSM and was wondering if the wheel alignment specs would be the same for an 80?

Steering Axis Inclination 8 1/2 degrees
Caster 3 degrees (+1 degree)
Camber 1 1/2 degree (+1/2 degree)
Toe-In 3/64 to 3/32 inch
Turning angle 28 to 29 degrees

Thanx...

I called my friends at Sears, and they informed me that the specs are different...they change at, surprise surprise, the same time that the axle width changed. So the specs for an 80 would be the same as the specs for any later 80's CJ...prior to YJ of course.

My '80 has the narrowtrack axles. I think '81 or '82 was the changeover to the widetrack axles. These alignment specs should be able to be confirmed with a Chilton's manual.

yep 81 was the turn over... I would have looked in a Chiltons but they don't sell 'em around here for my vehicle and the Haynes didn't have anything...

Thanx

I'll TRY to remember to bring my Chilton's to work on Monday and post the figures for the alignment unless someone else can look this up before then and post.

Thanx Rick. I just need to know if they match my 77 and if not what they are... be nice to have the CJ come out of turns on its own :-)

The alignment specs that you originally posted are good for the years 74 - 80. The specs read: Caster 2-1/2P to 3-1/2P with 3P the pref. Camber 1P to 2P with 1-1/2P the pref. The Chiltons doesn't give the turning angle.
