Default Custom 3\" double tube bumper pics

Finally finished my bumpers a few weeks ago and got a web page put together for them. They are on my 88YJ, go to the site below for some pics and general steps if you're interested.

Nice job, they look great. I like the angle of the front ones.

Very nice job Big Ed!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like the way you attaced the rear bumper and the overall look of your new bumpers............HMMMMmmmmmmmmmmm the hampster has started to spin the wheel in my head again, time for me to knock out some bumpers of my own, lets just hope the hampster dosn't fall off the wheel while chugging on his beer!

Cool, thanks for the input. The walls of the tubes are 3/16" thick, which is probably overkill but it isn't goin' anywhere. The two bumpers together weigh about 120lbs!

Very nicely done. Now, can I make a suggestion? Put a little notch in the center right on the bottom. You need a place on which you can lift with a Hi-Lift jack. A friend of mine had tube bumpers & we were unable to get him out of a hole one time because the jack just kept slipping off the tubes. The call to get a 10-ton wrecker was very expensive. He had a notch in the front & we were able to get it entirely up out of the mud, but not well enough to free the buried rear of the truck (the rear bumper was slick). Had we been able to jack that up, no wrecker would have been necessary. At least, it wouldn't have been necessary THAT time.

Good suggestion Tex. An alternative to putting notch in is welding a piece of flat stock on the bottom with small tabs pointing down to keep the jack from sliding sideways. Kind of an upside down saddle.
