| | OT... FT. Hood Shootings?
Sounds like about three people decided to open fire down at Ft. Hood Texas,
According to the news, three gunmen opened fire in at least two different buildings,
Current CNN count has dead at 13, over 30 wounded, one gunman dead and two in custody according to the base spokesman on CNN...
Anyway, wondering if anyone else has any information on what's going on over the talking head on CNN...

Not much, they are waiting on a news conference.
They say Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hassan was the shooter. Said he was a psychiatrist with orders for Iraq. He didn’t want to go and had been very vocal about it.

Not much from the news conference other than, contrary to what has otherwise been reported, the shooter is NOT dead, never was . 12 dead, 31 wounded.

What the talking heads on CNN are now saying is,
The shooter was a Major, for you non military guys,
That's a senior officer.
They say he's still alive, shot several times to stop him, but they believe he will survive.
Name is Malik Nidal Hasan and he is reported to be 39 years old.
LINKS, Fort Hood shootings: How often do soldiers kill soldiers? | csmonitor.com Officials: Fort Hood shootings suspect alive; 12 dead - CNN.com
Current count is 12 dead, 31 wounded (plus shooter), and the shootings took place in two locations, one being a quite crowded room.
So far, this looks like a singular Muslim with a hard-on for the military since he was being deployed for the first time,
Supposed to ship out this month.
Was actually on an FBI watch list for the past 6 months for his vocal and written opposition to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
American Muslim community has wasted no time what so ever distancing themselves from this guy and what he did.
Too bad we have to go to BBC and other over seas sources to find out they are looking for his brother for questioning...

Speculation is that his Muslim belief may have had something to do with it. There have been claims that he had been harassed by other members of the military because of it.

Well, found out late last night that a 3rd cousin was at Ft. Hood, shot in the calf & hip.
His parents say he wasn't allowed to talk about the 'Incident', but he is expected to make full recovery, currently not much bone damage or nerve involvement they can tell (yet).
The parents said it took him more than 8 hours to get a phone line out to contact his parents because of all the phone activity around the post.
I'm sure much of that was also medical treatment time with two bullet wounds!
Post op sucks... Anyone that has been in post op knows what I'm talking about!
This is looking like a 'Lone Gunman' thing so far...
In the very beginning, there were rumors about maybe the Mexican drug cartels might be pulling something since the troops use the Mexican border/desert area as a training ground for some of the desert rat troops, but that went away pretty quickly...
Seems this guy was a disgruntled Muslim that didn't want to deploy, and owed too much time to the government for his education to resign his commission and get out of the deployment to Afghanistan.
The Islamic community in the US wasted NO TIME in distancing it's self from his actions.
I didn't know he was Muslim or his name and the American Islamic community was already condemning his actions and putting distance between them and him!
They REALLY don't want a repeat of 9/11...
------------------------------------------
What they aren't telling you...
The people killed are 'Non-Combat'.
If they have people living on post, those people now have 29 days to bury their dead, pack up and clear out.
Since the deaths weren't 'Combat', the families don't have any extension rights.
I'm looking for someone to start up a fund for the families like they did the 9/11 victims, most of which WERE NOT military...
I'm broke, but I'd throw a few bucks to that project!
Anyone know a lawyer that can set up a trust fund to help out the victims families with expenses, counseling for spouses and children, and an education fund for their kids?

Suspect Nidal Malik Hasan in stable condition after Fort Hood killings
| WAIT! How did that happen. He wasn’t exactly in stable condition before it and how did he get to be a psychiatrist if he was unstable enough to start shooting people?

Taz
I really don't think we're going to get an unfiltered story out of this. This is way too convenient. It's almost as shame it didn't occur in Gee-I-Duped-Ya's administration since he mastered the practice of using the word Muslim and Terrorist in the same statement more times than I can count.
This is too much of a Prêt-à-Porter event.

Well, it is very peculiar that he managed to reach that rank without having something show up before now.
The initial reporting made it sound like he was being ***t-canned to Iraq for poor performance reviews. Now that appears to have gone away.
I don't believe anything I read anymore.
Now not everything is a conspiracy theory ..only the important stuff.
