| | TSL vs XZL
Does any one have any prefrences or thoughts betwen these two tires interco's TSL SX or the Mihelin XZL. The TSL comes in a 43 14.5 20 size which will be new for interco and offered late november. The Michelin's i am thinking about are 44.4 14.3 20 or 46.4 15.5 20. Let me know what you all think, thanks

Other then the obvious tread differences, the Michelin's are a much heavier tire. More for heavy trucks say 2 ton plus, then Jeeps.
The Michelin tires are Load range G, H, J which are 14, 16, and 18 ply rating respectively. Link They will not flex much at all I would think they would hold up the Jeep with no air in them at all.
Interco tires are much more inline with the weight rating of a Jeep usually 6, or 8 ply rating.

that makes sense. Do you know if one is superior to the other on the trails. i feel like the tsl would be better for extream offroading, where as the xzl's are less aggresive, but increased strength for heavy equipment or trucks. Is this correct? thanks

Unless you are putting these tires on a VERY heavy rig... Go with the TSL's They are a great offroad tire.

Remember, when you're off-road you often have air down tires to get out of some situations. It's good to tuck that little factoid into the recess of your mind when you buy tires. Sidewall stiffness/thickness/composition play an important factor in this little exercise.

Having good luck with LTB's up here,
National Tire & Wheel, all 5 tires with rims in 35" for about $1,500 delivered.
They work VERY WELL for us!

Tires like the XZL are simply not meant for use on light rigs. Tires like the TSL are not meant for use on heavy rig's, like offroad dump trucks. Also the XZL 20" wheel is not one of these new 20" wheels for pickup type trucks it is a flap and tube split rim type wheel, as has been used on semi type trucks for years. Since these tires have such different intended uses it can not be said that one is better than the other. They are simply different.
