Default 350-700r4 YJ swap T-case ?

I've been reading through a ton of post on here today and can't find the answer! So here we go! My son and myself are in the middle of a V8 swap in his 87 YJ. I have a 350 700r4 with a 208 from my 86 sub. I'm looking for the most cost affective way to put a driveside drop T-case in it. I've read on other forums that the late 80s early 90s 241 chevy IFS T-case will bolt up with no adapter or modifications. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm going out on a limb here, but I am assuming the 700R4 is a 4X4 700R4? I once had a 1990 S-10 4.3 / 700R4 / NP241. The NP241 had 5 bolts mating to the 4X4 700R4 T-Case adapter.

If you are looking for an adapter free t-case swap a 241 from a ifs truck should work. This is a looooong drive train, JB conversions does sell an sye for the 241, it's a big and heavy but pretty decent case.

To run an s10 231 I'm pretty you'd need to swap adapter and not sure about tail shafts. The s10 231's run a different input/ 5 bolt pattern though you can mix a jeep and s10 231 to put a jeep sye in the 231 if he's all ready bought an sye for his 231.

A bud of mine did this (only with an AMC 401/700R4 combo)... swapped the input gear (JB 32spline?) in his D300 and slapped it directly on the back of his tranny.

IIRC, there are no adapters (tranny-TC) needed, but he may have used a clocking ring to tuck it up a bit...

Thanks guy's! The s10 won't work with its 5 bolt mate! I found a 241 that came off a 700r4 with the sye already installed for $300! Think this is a good deal?

If everything works, $300 ... I'd have it in my shop / and pictures of it on the internet.
