| | Soft doors on a my CJ-7
Iv got a 1984 CJ-7 ,, Trying to get it ready for winter. It has a stock hard top and the metal doors are rusted real bad on the section that goes around the glass,,, Drivers side might be fixable but the passanger side I have to hold it togeather to get it closed with out braking it in two..
My question is will a set of soft doors off a 1985 CJ-7 with a soft top fit my 1984 with a stock hard top ??
Im sure someone has tryed this somtime,,

I don't think so. At least the doors on my stock Whitco soft top won't work with my stock hardtop. They latch closed against the rods that support the forward part of the top at the back of the door opening. The corresponding area of the hardtop is not in the same place. But like anything else, they could probably be made to work. They're just steel rods and vinyl-coated canvas.

Nothins ever easy on these Jeeps.. Figured it would be a little different with this one being the newest Jeep Iv owned,,, With winter getting closer I have to make do till spring,, Maybe the Hard doors will be less than 300 on E-bay by then..
I figured these were to good to be true $75 for the two,, http://www.marylandjeepclub.org/phpB...6ddbd597c709a2

Yeah, those look just like my soft doors. They're not quite the right shape, but for $75 I'd get them and make them work. Worst case, hold them closed with bungee cords and stuff foam rubber in the gaps. As long as you don't ruin them you can probably get most of your $75 out of them next year.

The only issue as to whether these doors fit or not should be the top rear corner of the door. If they are a nice rounded corner (about a 6" radius?) they should fit. If they are more of a sharp 90 deg. corner then it's more of a problem. I can't tell from your picture because the important area is cut off.

If you can find a set of inexpensive lower half doors (YJ or CJ) you can get some upper door halfs from JCWhitney and have a full door for a reasonable cost.[quote]It has a stock hard top and the metal doors are rusted real bad on the section that goes around the glass[quote]I've a door sitting in the shed for the same reason. I wish someone would make that part. I know there's a fiberglass door maker out there who has duplicated that part in fiberglass. I would be wonderful if it could be released as a replacement kit.
