The 'I' terminal on the starter relay is only 'Hot' when the starter is cranking.
When the starter stops, the post will no longer supply voltage to the ignition system...
And then the key switch 'Run' position takes over supplying power to the ignition system.
The 'I' terminal will show voltage since it's connected directly to the coil,
But it will be reduced voltage from the coil using voltage and the ignition resistor in line.
Some people power up the module from this point,
But I was under the impression you were going to take the old coil wire out...
If you leave the old coil wire in place, you can use it to power up the module.
Reduced voltage from resistor won't effect the module,
About any current will power it up.
