Default jeep bikini top on a 1985 CJ 7

I have a jeep bikini top and for winter i have a hard top so i have to remove the channel is there a no drill channel or will i just have to remove the screws and channel each year i will be replacing the windshield frame next year and was just trying to do away with having to drill but if have to i will 1985 CJ 7

While I'm not sure all are the same I had to remove mine.

I would check for the fit/clearance to be sure as I had to oversize my screws every two to three years on my channel since they would "wear out/pull through" the sheet metal frame.

So if yours fits without taking it off I would call it a bonus. (I would be surprised if it would but it wouldn't hurt to check)

yea i tried and no luck so i guess i can just remove every year not a big deal just was wondering

I remove my channels every winter so I can put the hard top on. I have yet to use bigger screws due to the hole on the windshield frame being worn out.

Hey, it's not a bad problem, it just takes time. Just drill the top of the windshield frame and drop in/weld in nuts into the hole to recieve the bolts. Then you'll never have to suffer from those elnogated sheet metal screw holes again.
