Coils are over rated.
Only major advantage is ride comfort. Ok, yeah you can probably get more flex with some crazy long-arm-triangulated-oliptical-radiusarm-do-hickys but wasn't it JP(correct if I'm wrong) that ran an article where they converted a TJ to leafs in the rear because they get really nasty squat on hill climbs. You get a wack of flex from an SOA and a decent set of leafs like Rubi's SOA set, and as for comfort, I'd rather spend $1000 for a pair of good Mastercraft suspension seats than $3000+ for a coil conversion. Over all you'd probably spend a 1/3 of what a good coil suspension would cost, to put in the equivalent leaf sprung setup.
I think your making a good choice to stick with leafs.
Just my 2cents, by all means, flame all you want.

If you have to ask it's probably not for you. It's doable but not cheap and if you are going through all the trouble you might as well ditch the stock axles and upgrade tires. There's lots of linked and coiled jeeps that started life with leafs out there, they aren't the easiest things to build and most are built for pretty serious wheeling.

I have to throw my vote at SOA.....5 1/2" of lift.....great ride....lots of flex....and if you break a spring....and Wrangler leaf will work.....and it's about the cheapest lift you can do.....
Just plan on buying a CV driveshaft.....

Ok before we start recommending this we probably should have some back ground info on you. What do you plan on doing with your jeep? What are your fab skills and tools you have access to? Budget?
