Had a thought last week when loading for URE (and seeing 1 of my ancient bias ply's is looking PITIFUL)
My axles use what appear to be 15" std. 6lug "chevy patterned" rims...
*IF* I could find suitable 16" rims, that *might* allow me to use 16" LoadRange E truck tires if a comparable size exists?
Seems they (LR "E"s) radials do NOT suffer from the rash of blowouts & overall crappiness "trailer" tires do. Seems they'd be within 25% of trailer tires, so if they last longer & give better service, it should be worth it, right?
My current trailer tires are 225/75ST15 (8.9"W, 6.7" Section, & 28.3" tall), but I'm having issues finding a truck tire in that size... anyone have knowledge of metricated tire sizing?
