We are family here.
My point is that I think Jeepgirl just wanted to link Jeeps with the 4th.
I know there is proper ways to display Old Glory, but I take no offense as long as someone displays her in a positive light. Education in flag etiquette is not a bad thing.

I personaly think you should stop crying about the paint job, someone obviously has enough pride in their country to display the flag on their toy. It's not like they took a real flag a cut it all up a glued it on there, it's a paint job relax!!! If you look to the back of the jeep there is the real flag flying the way she should be flown so obviously whoever owns this jeep isn't trying to degrade it in any way. So being that I unlike most of you are currently defending that flag in Iraq on the 4th of July why don't you stop crying and go drink a beer for me.

Ya'll need to relax a little more like Mountain Monkey... go have a beer and chill out!!! It's just a dang picture that I found and wrote "Happy 4th of July" on. I never thought it would cause this much of a problem.

I don't care about the paint!

It's those HUGE tires on aluminum rims,
Huge tires on STOCK axles,
'Bumper' bar going DOWN to ruin approach angles!
That 'Mr. GAGIT' bug catcher sticking out of the hood....
The list goes on, but I have better stuff to do!

Why would I get upset about paint?
It's just going to fade or get scratched off anyway!
And as for the American Flag...
As long as he doesn't let it touch the ground or get filthy,
I don't have a problem with it!

It's more tasteless than painting close-ups of certain female body parts on your Jeeps. Thousands have died for our flag, a little respect please.

Five signers were captured by the British as traitors, and tortured before they died.

Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned. Two lost their sons serving in the Revolutionary Army; another had two sons captured.

At the battle of Yorktown , Thomas Nelson, Jr., noted that the British General Cornwallis had taken over the Nelson home for his headquarters.

He quietly urged General George Washington to open fire. The home was destroyed, and Nelson died bankrupt.

Francis Lewis had his home and properties destroyed. The enemy jailed his wife, and she died within a few months.

John Hart was driven from his wife's bedside as she was dying. Their 13 children fled for their lives. His fields and his gristmill were laid to waste. For more than a year he lived in forests and caves, returning home to find his wife dead and his children vanished. Some of us take these liberties so much for granted, but we shouldn't.

So, take a few minutes while enjoying your 4th of July holiday and silently thank these patriots.

It's not much to ask for the price they paid.

If you really wondered, here is a ushistory.org page that will get you started. I wouldn’t take anything there as absolute fact but it should be a lot better starting point than an email. There is a little next button near the top right of the page. You can just scroll through and read what they have about all of them.

As I said - it was emailed to me. No, I did not check it with snopes - I knew the people on here that don't understand the sacrifices our forefathers made would argue no matter what.

snopes has proven time after time to be inaccurate and one sided - bordering on traitors.
If you want to believe that guff from them, go ahead. Then go to a country you like.
