Default 1973 CJ-5, Snowplow as Factory Option?

Hello, One more question on this vehicle. I have seen a few references to a Meyer 6' snow plow being an available option directly from the factory on this vehicle. Is that possible/correct? Also, does anyone have any links to the available options that year? Thanks so much.

I would doubt it as a direct from factory option but it might have been a dealer option. Many Jeep dealers had options to add PTO, winches, locking hubs ect. even though they were not factory options and used aftermarket parts. In fact that is how Warn got his start making hubs to go on the Jeeps he sold at his dealership.

Nope, but some dealers would offer snow plows as dealership options when the snow flew.

There was a dealership down the road from us that was 'Giving Away' snow plows when you purchased a new 4x4 pickup off the lot from them during the snow/ice we had this winter...

Sold several trucks during a dead market by all accounts,
And now you can buy really nice plows for about $500 all over the place!

When I got my CJ in '78, among the options available were a Meyer plow, Ramsey PTO winch and Warn electric winch. They were factory options but dealer installed, just like the Whitco soft tops. If you ordered one it was in a carton in the bed of the Jeep when it rolled off the truck.
