Everyone has their own idea about what 'Off Roading' is,
And what it means to be a 'Real OffRoader'...
------------------------------------------
SO!
Attending the 'BASH' is a valid substitute for actually knowing what you are talking about?
Glad you cleared that up for us! I didn't know what the 'Official Description' was for an 'Off Roader'...
Guess I'm NOT ONE by your definition!
So the drunken frat monkeys that show up in daddy's 'Commander' or 'Liberty' for the 'Bash' are 'Real Off Roaders' by your standards?
That's good to know,
Maybe I'll show up in a giant RV towing a trailer, and get in the 'Old' air conditioned JK and show up long enough to get my Tee Shirt one day!
------------------------------------------
And if the bash were closer, I might attend.
I like RedBird better since our family farm shop is about 10 miles down the road and I live about 40 minutes away...
Now, If I were into 'MotorHome' camping,
Trailering my vehicle,
Only getting out once a year or so,
Then the 'Bash' might be my objective.
Since I have OPTIONS during the 'Bash' weekend,
And since you all seem bent on having the bash at the most inconvenient time for me, it's not likely I'll attend anytime soon.
HOWEVER...
I do make RedBird, both when 'Members' are there,
And when they ARE NOT there...
I make INTERLAKE, and I've NEVER seen or read about any 'Members' being there yet...
I do things like the Devils Backbone run and the Ohio River Spring Fun Run every year, and I don't see 'Members' there...
On the few occasions we go to Haspin I don't see any MEMBERS there,
Same with Harlan County Ky. when we go,
And
I ALWAYS ANNOUNCE when we are going, where we'll be, and even what we drive so 'Members' can pick us out of a crowd....
Seems I've made offers to taz and dale to meet me places outside of 'Group Outings' and both of them declined...
If you don't Meet Me In Person, it's because YOU aren't going on any of the same parks, trails, ect. we are...
Funny, I've never seen ANY of you at a cleanup run for ANY of the parks!...
If you decide to 'Go Native' sometime,
Get out of the motorhome and actually take a NON-Road trip, you should maybe come down and try about 40 or 50 miles of Ohio river banks, nothing like fording creeks, climbing rock ridges, getting into mud pits with no bottoms, traversing brides made of trees that we cut...
That is FUN Stuff, but you WILL HAVE TO WORK TOGETHER on the overnight runs...
And PRIMITIVE CAMPING is always a blast once you get away from the street lights and bug zappers and such!
Some of the guys here will remember I offered to let people camp at my family farm, and it even has electricity,
But they couldn't do without running water, TV's and Air Conditioning!
If you just come to the parks, then you can go back to the hotel A/C and Satellite TV after you have made your appearance...
