What is the coolest thing you have found on the trails?
For me it was a broken canon ball.
In Monteagle Tennessee we were wheeling and stopped to unlock hubs and a friend of mine who was riding shotgun walked around the front of my jeep, stopped and picked up something. He realized what had and was showing it to me and remarked how neat it would be to have the other half and points to the depression in the ground beside a rock. Well, I take two steps and pick up the other half of the canon ball from the opposite side of the rock. The two pieces were less than 24" apart.

It's quite weathered. Do you think it's Civil War stuff?

Don't know if it classifies as cool but certainly bizarre and more than a little freaky.
I was on a charity run in West Virginia about 6 years ago and it was the last day. I had hooked up with a group of guys that were part of the organizing club and we decided to push out a few dead-ended trails to see whether they could be added to the list for following years.
There's only about 5 of us total and we're creeping down this soggy...opening.. at the end of what was clearly a long unused trail. We finally came to a point where further progress was blocked by a fallen tree and unhappy at the sogginess to come we all hopped out into the muck to chainsaw this tree out of the way. One of the guys hops on the far side of the tree and a few seconds later we hear "what the h3II" and everyone goes to have a look.
Up against the bank someone had built a semi-circle of stones. Above this semi-circle they had suspended some kind of bones from some tree limbs and such. Inside the semi-circle were some more bones that were arranged in some kind of pattern and in the middle of all that was a severed calfs head (or something).
We pondered this for what must have been at least 10 seconds and then busted out that chainsaw most expeditiously and got that tree gone in record time. We also managed to winch 5 jeeps up the impassible mucky hill following right after in record time as well.
Back at camp we had a good (nervous) laugh about it all and named the trail Sacrifice Hill.

Oh come on share the story.
| Nope..
but I did find a cannonball in my front yard in Seattle when I was younger. My dad took it away from me and threw it down our 50' dry well We were doing landscaping and leveling the area and he covered it over with about 25' of rocks. I suspect is was from the 1856 Indian war that stretched from north to south of Seattle. I sure wish my ol' Pop would have let me keep it.

Found a Jeep upside down in a deep puddle that I accidentally hooked and dragged out with the rear bumper of my '83 Cherokee full size (cops said it was a stolen and dumped CJ)
Another time I found some girls sunbathing nude (just had new exhaust put on so they didn't hear us over their radio)
