My Granddad and I were walking thru the woods near Murphy, NC. We came across what must've been and old settlement from the Early half 1900's. There were shoes, building foundations, Oil cans which were what really helped date the scene. I bet with some digging around there could've been several cool items.

There was a similar post like this in January 2006.
My strange finding that I found on the trail: porn.
There was a brown paper grocery bag filled to the top with neatly stacked video tapes. It hadn't been rained on so it wasn't there that long.
Now who would neatly stack all these adult tapes in a bag then hike into the woods and leave it there?

Coolest thing I have found in the woods was while hunting not wheeling and unfortunitely for birds not women.

It was a complete petrified tree. The tree was 8 foot long with about a 8" diameter trunk and 4 limbs. It was broken into about 10 pieces but it was complete and undisturbed.
