Every time I change screens here I have to pause the stupid video in the left corner. Is there a way to turn it off?

OK, so I had my fun jab at a buddy.
Is this one more way for them to fubar ORC????
I hate things like that and it's one of those things that drives me away from "other" sites I visit. Is that what they want? I know advertising is $$ but not when it hurts the good of the cause.
Who else feels this way? If you do please make it known to the top level people.

The best bet IMHO would to be to contact mudrunner88 (sorry to dump it on you) as he is one of the few that has ever responded to me for anything.
I HATE vids in the pages. It slows everything down by a ton and sucks to have to keep the speakers off.
If thats what it takes to keep the BBS funded.......well let it die. If not, PLEASE take it off because it drives away plenty of people.

To have it run automatically is an invasion of privacy. They could make it attractive, then if we want, play it.
Invasion of privacy - if someone invaded your living room what would you do?
Yup, you'd call 911 and tell them someone is about to commit suicide - just before you shot him!

What video? I run firefox with a flashvideo blocker, I never even see flash video content unless I want to... I really like it!

Larry, where does that flash video blocker come from? I Mozilla I went to Tools/Options/Main/Manage Add-ons/Plug-ins and turned off Shockwave Flash. But now I can't see it if I want to.

Flashblock add-on site When you load it, all you see is the frame with a large "F", for Flash, in the frame. Then you know it's there, and can choose to watch it, or not. You can also whitelist sites that you want flash to play, such as Youtube to avoid manual intervention.
