I have no idea what this bracket does???

I have owned three jeep wranglers and this third one has a bracket that is going across the top on the wind shield. It is on the inside on the frame. right behind the visors. Is this some kind of bracket for a bikini top? or some kind of other top? The other jeeps I owned never had one of these. The only other jeep I have seen that had one of these was my cousins 99 TJ. If y'all aren't sure what I am talking about I can take a picture of it and post it.

Post a picture. It's probably a top attachment of some kind, but I've never seen one there.

This mystery bracket has nothing to do with the removal of the soft top so I don't know what its purpose is?

It looks like it has a flat edge on top. Does it help the front edge of the fatcory soft top seal? Keep the wind noise and water out?

It doesn't touch the soft top....It has a groove in the top of it where it looks like something slides into it...It must be for some kind of bikini top...I don't know why my cousins TJ would have one though.

Is'nt it to strap the windshield frame to the hood?

Also used for one of the straps on a strapless Bikini Top. The strap goes from the back edge of the top around the roll bar and forward to the windshield to tighten the top.

OH No....I may have looked like I was pointing to the bracket for the wind shield strap...I wasn't. I was pointing to the flat black long piece of metal that goes across the whole top of the wind shield. Maybe it is for a bikini top.....Next time I have the top off Ill take some really good pictures of it. I tried to do some research on the internet for it and came back with nothing....
