| |  Help!! My house smell like a skunk
Long story short, my dogs got sprayed by a skunk last night and before I realized it I had already let them into the house. At first it was so bad the fumes would burn my eyes. I got the dogs out, opened the windows, put every fan I could find in the windows blowing outwards, and then went to a friends place for the night. I left everything ventilating for over 12 hours. I can atleast get back in the house now but it still stinks... anybody know how to get rid of this awful smell?

Sulfer candles and tomato juice. Course I wouldn't want to clean the carpet with tomato juice.

Do you have professional clean-up services in your area? Serv-Pro, Service Master and a couple others advertise regularly here. Contact them, and contact your insurance to see if you have coverage for that.
Use the tomato juice on anything the dogs rubbed against while they were in there - that's where most of the smell is coming from. But mainly you'll have to wait it out. It'll be pretty much gone in a week.

Go to you local super pet store they usually have cleaners for getting rid of skunk smells without staining your carpets and or furniture.

It really warms my heart to see all these suggestions...... I mean a gal has an issue, and nobody has a problem with it being off topic. That is awesome. I'm sure it would be nice if some of the suggestions were helpful.... but we're learning... small steps......
...... has anybody suggested a small fire, with lots of gasoline?

Did you search the ‘net?
This seems to be the most popular recipe.
1 quart 3 percent hydrogen peroxide
1/4 cup baking soda (sodium bicarbonate)
1 teaspoon liquid soap or dish detergent
Be sure to use this mixture immediately after it is created, as it is unstable.
Rinse with tap water afterward, and repeat if necessary.
From what I’m seeing, tomato juice doesn’t work. The explanation given is that while washing with the tomato juice, you soon get used to the skunk odor and you smell only the tomato juice.
