1 quart 3 percent hydrogen peroxide
1/4 cup baking soda (sodium bicarbonate)
1 teaspoon liquid soap or dish detergent
Be sure to use this mixture immediately after it is created, as it is unstable.
Rinse with tap water afterward, and repeat if necessary.
From what I’m seeing, tomato juice doesn't work. The explanation given is that while washing with the tomato juice, you soon get used to the skunk odor and you smell only the tomato juice. |
I used tomato juice on the dogs today, I'll try this recipe tomorrow.
I'm back in my house, for those of you interested this is what I did...
opened every window and door in the house, brought in as many fans as I could find to help draw the air out of the house. I let it air out for almost 2 days. I got 5 boxes of baking soda and covered my carpets with it, let it set 4 hours. I put a pan of water and vinegar on the stove to simmer about all day, 2/3 water 1/3 vinegar. I washed all of my curtians and drapes, took all of the pillows, cushions, and blankets outside to air out, and changed my a/c filter. Also I burned a lot of sented candles. Either it worked or I just got use to the smell... either way I'm back in my own house
