Default New Rims

Got my new Black Steelies today in the mail. I was reading the information in the box and it said that once I mount the new tires on the rims they are un-returnable. These are it below Cragar Wheels 3425712 - CRAGAR Series 342 Black "D" Window Wheel 5 on 4.5" Bolt Pattern - Quadratec

Just asking a second opinion from y'all on whether they are going to fit? What would cause them to not fit? The lug nuts i have right now on the jeep are tapered....Do i need to get new lug nuts as these new black steelies are not tapered on the lug nut portion of the rim.

You should ask Cragar or the vendor what nuts you need. They'll probably be straight with a shoulder, but don't trust that.

99.99% your stock lug nuts will work with those steel wheels. You should see a bevel/taper where the lug nut clamps down on the wheel. I really don't think you should have any issues.

Now, that said, I really don't like the stock lugs - the little sheet metal cover slips off, and then they don't fit the lug wrench, and water can get to the threads... Blah.

I went to Advance Auto Parts and bought a set of lugs with locks, $25 or whatever.

Worse comes to worst, you go buy a set of lugs. But really, you should be ok with the stock lugs. BUT, don't take my word for it, call and ask!

Good luck
Pete

Called Quadratec and they recommended that I use acorn style lug nuts for the wheels. I don't like stock tapered lug nuts. Still waiting for my tires to show up......I am going to be one smiling dude when I get everything bolted up!!!

I like the solid acorns from advance. they are made of something where they don't scuff easy. They are shinny which is bad in my book, but I just don't wash them and they are fine.
Oh they don't rust either.

There are stainless steel acorn lugs out there, but they're pricey. I think I got some from Advance in Attica during the Bash this year. When I lost my nuts. Because Rio didn't tighten them.

(Nothing is EVER my fault - ask my Boss )

He didn't get them tight because you wouldn't let him use his big vise grips on them. You seemed to be pretty protective of your nuts at that time.
